World Squad 2023: FC Bayern München List Three Nigerian Youngsters In World Squad Tournament List

Three Nigerian youngsters, Treasure Odunze, Victor Orakpo and David Emmanuel have been selected to feature in the FC Bayern World Squad tournament.

The initiative, jointly organised by the German record champions and their partner Volkswagen, has more than established itself as a springboard for international talent at U19 level.

The third edition will launch in 2023 with Roy Makaay as the new coach – and with a central message on the front of the jersey: With the inscription ‘Red against Racism’, FC Bayern want to send a signal for diversity and against discrimination of all kinds with this multicultural, forward-looking team as part of their club-wide initiative. 

FC Bayern board member for marketing, sponsoring and events Andreas Jung: “Together with Volkswagen, the main partner of this international lighthouse project, we want to use the FC Bayern World Squad to promote global football talent, give players from all over the world a chance to become professional footballers and contribute to cultural exchange. With this globally unique youth project, FC Bayern is once again highlighting the importance of the core values of inspiration, success and commitment. In this context, we are pleased to be sending out another signal for diversity with ‘Red against Racism’ on our jerseys.

This team with young players from so many different nations is a great ambassador for open-mindedness and our club-wide initiative ‘Red against Racism’.” 

Head of FC Bayern Campus Jochen Sauer: “The FC Bayern World Squad project is the most important scouting project in the club’s niche area and has developed exceptionally well in its first two years. It’s an excellent springboard for international talent. In combination with the FC Bayern Youth Cup, our U16 tournament, FC Bayern can thus offer youngsters from all over the world a unique opportunity on their journey into professional football from a young age.” 

This year, the 23 players born in 2005/06 come from 18 different nations. The FC Bayern World Squad will start off by travelling to Buenos Aires for a 12-day training camp, where three friendlies have been scheduled in the Argentinean capital.

The talents play Estudiantes de la Plata on 19 June, Diego Maradona’s first club Argentinos Juniors on 23 June, and will on 27 June take on River Plate, where former FCB player and reserves coach Martin Demichelis (now part of the FC Bayern Legends) is the current head coach. Back in Germany, a second training camp will take place from 1 to 15 July, including friendlies against KSV Hessen Kassel (on 5 July at the DFB Academy in Frankfurt) and Hamburger SV (9 July at the HSV Academy).

The highlight match against the FC Bayern U19s at the Allianz Arena is scheduled for 15 July this year – more information on this game will be announced later.

Prolific Nigeria forward, Yusuf Otubanjo, added to his goal numbers in the current Armenia topflight league season following his stunning goal in Pyunik Yerevan 3-1 lose against Ararat-Armenia earlier today.

The Armenian premier league top joint-scoring came through in his goal scoring element as he spearheaded Pyunik Yerevan attack and delivered a goal to ice his outstanding performance against Ararat-Armenia.

Upon the season restart, Ararat-Armenia were faced with a tough test haven been drawn to face Armenia premier league champions, Pyunik Yerevan on Matchday 21.

Hoping to continue with its streak, Pyunik Yerevan upon the season restart we’re faced with an uphill task haven been fixed to trade tackles with Ararat-Armenia away from home on Matchday 21.

Nigeria forward, Yenne Tenton, continued with his impressive goal scoring form in the Armenian Premier League as he delivered a brace in Ararat-Armenia 3-1 win over Armenia champions, Pyunik Yerevan in one of the Matchday 21 games played earlier today.

Gbomadu Mathew: Promising Nigeria Forward Provides Stunning Assist In FC Van Win Over FC Alashkert

Highly rated Nigeria youngster, Mathew Gbomadu, was handful in his debut game for Armenian side, FC Van, as he delivered assist for the team winning goal in FC Van 0-1 win away from home against, FC Alashkert.

The bulky Nigeria forward who was handed a starting place in the stars studded FC Van side lived up to expectations as he was a menace to FC Alashkert defenders and still delivered assist for FC Van winning goal.

After break, actions resumed in the Armenian elite league as, FC Alashkert, squared up to host, FC Van, in its Matchday 21 fixture.

FC Van ambushed inconsistent, FC Alashkert, side hoping to compound their woes when the two side trade tackles on Matchday 21.

First half of the game lived up to its billing with the two sides showing off great football artistry to the fans delight.

Heading towards half time break , visitors, FC Van, came through with the much sorted goal to break the deadlock as Guinean striker, Momo Toure, finished off, Mathew Gbomadu, exquisite assist at the 38th minute to hand the team lead heading back to the locker room.

An end to end stuff it turned in the second half, as Mathew Gbomadu assist for Momo Toure first half goal was all FC Van needed to secure all maximum points at stake against, FC Alashkert.
