FC ONE Rocket recorded a first win away from home in the Nigeria National League this season with a thrilling 2-3 victory over Henserd FC at the Samson Siasia Stadium, Yenagoa on Saturday.

Youngster, Wonderson Yakubu ran the show – providing the assist for Clinton Jephta to open the floodgates in the 11th minute – before scoring the winner in the 72nd minute to seal a memorable outing for the Indomitables.

FC ONE Rocket started the game like a house on fire, mounted pressure on their opponents and had attempts in the 4th and 9th minutes through James Sunday, whose header went wide, and Clinton Jephta, who fired wide from close range.

Jephta made amends two minutes later to grab the opener, thanks to Wonderson Yakubu’s delicious cross.

Paul Ogunkoya and Clinton Jephta would miss the chance to add to the tally for FC ONE Rocket, while Wonderson Yakubu’s header was denied by the upright, which gave the hosts a lifeline as Abule Alabo equalised in the 34th minute to bring the scores level at 1-1 heading into the break.

Ndubisi Ndah’s men returned for the second half in full swing and got rewarded in the 49th minute through Harrison Ebah’s thumping header off Clinton Jephta’s corner delivery to make it 1-2.

The hosts equalised again through Abule Alabo in the 64th minute, before Wonderson Yakubu’s spectacular hit, thanks to Efe Kegbe’s assist in the 72nd minute, sealed a 2-3 win.
