Vietnamese V-league: Two Nigerian Stars To Look Out For

After months of waiting, the waiting would soon be over following the commencement of the 2022/2023 Vietnamese V-league season with over 10 games in the offing for Matchday one.

Ahead of it’s Matchday 1 numerous Vietnamese V-league campaigners engaged in top Grade A friendly games to continue sharpening the competitive edge.

With Nigerian born players arguably in every top leagues in the world, here are (2) Nigerian stars to look out for when the new Vietnamese V-league season gets underway tomorrow.

1. Hoàng Vu Samson (Ho Chi Minh City)
The Nigerian-Vietnamese lethal talisman lists as one of the star players to be on the look out for in the new season.

Still ranking as the Vietnamese V-league all time top scorer, Olaleye has never failed to be impressive in all seasons in the V-league, a standard he has maintained over time.

Haven travelled with the Ho Chi Minh City contingent for their game against, Nam Dinh, the clinical finisher is expected to lead the Frontline.

2. Olaha Michael (Song Lam Nghe An Football Club)
Impressive Olaha Michael has been ever present for the Đội bóng xứ Nghệ. Playing from diverse position for the team, Olaha would be eyeing to start and finish the new season on a high.

Haven been included in Song Lam Nghe An Football Club team to face, Da Nang, Olaha would hope to hit tbe ground running from the blast. A talent to look out for in the colours of Song Lam Nghe An Football Club.

Super Eagles Defender Bruno Onyemaechi Makes Liga Portugal Team of The Week

Nigeria international Bruno Onyemaechi has been named in the Liga Portugal Team of The Week for match-day 25 following an impressive performance despite his side disappointing home defeat.

Onyemaechi who played from the left back position was the cynosure of all eyes as he was rugged defensively and a menace to the opponent’s backline offensively.

The Super Eagles star was handed a deserving start in the starting XI by Petit and he went ahead to hug headlines following his stellar performance in the game.

The 23-year-old utility player played out all 90mins in the keenly contested fixture as he recorded a decent number of completed passes and recovery defensively.

Ibrahim Olawoyin Makes Turkish TFF First League Team of The Week

Nigeria international Ibrahim Olawoyin has been named in the TFF First League Team of The Week for match-day 27 following an impressive performance that inspired Çaykur Rizespor Kulübü to a resounding 3-1 home win against Altay Spor Kulübü.

Olawoyin was the major catalyst as the Karadeniz Atmacası claimed a convincing 3-1 win at Yeni Rize Şehir Stadium on Saturday.

The In-Form Nigerian was handed a deserving start in the starting XI by Bülent Korkmaz and he went ahead to hug headlines following his stellar performance in the game.

The 25-year-old scored the first goal in the game in the early minutes after he found his way to dribble to goal off an assist from fellow Compatriot, Azubuike Okechukwu.

Super Eagles camp bubbles with 19 players Following Bruno Onyemaechi’s arrivals

The Nigeria Super Eagle’s camp bubbled and has its numbers of players increase to (19) with the arrival of Boavista Futebol Clube defender, Bruno Onyemaechi as well as other invited foreign pros ahead of the team all important fixture against Guinea-Bissau side.

In a bid to book a place in the AFCON, the Nigeria Super Eagle’s will be engaging in a doubleheader Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Guinea-Bissau later this month

The Super Eagles will play the first leg at the Moshood Abiola Stadium, Abuja on March 24 with the second leg taking place three days later at the 24 de Setembro Nacional Stadium.

In view of the important fixture, Nigeria Super Eagles gaffer, José Peseiro, have listed (24) players to execute the two legged qualifiers series.
