Under-20 World Cup: No Room For Complacency In The Team, We Want To Win Every Game- Tochukwu Nnadi

Botev Plovdiv and Nigerian Under-20 midfielder, Nnadi Tochukwu, has reveled that their wouldn’t be any room for complacency amongst the players as they are steadily working hard to bring the trophy home.

Speaking with Nigerian based Journalists, Nwosu CHIGOZIE, after the pulsating winning game against Italy, the box to box midfielder reassured Nigerians of doing their best to bring the trophy home.

“We worked hard for the last (2) games and that was why we were able to garner all maximum points at stake “

“The two games are done and dusted and we looking forward to our last group game against Brazil and subsequent game which I know is not going to be a tea party.

Mentally and Psychologically. We are prepared to take on any opponent in the tournament, we will only accord them respect but wouldn’t fear them and we coming all out for the trophy, the Botev Plovdiv midfielder concluded.

The Botev Plovdiv duo of Nnadi and Umeh who were thrown into the foray in the second half against Italy lighted up the Flying Eagles team, Bullish Umeh bulldozed his way into the opponents box and grabbed an assist for the first goal whilst Nnadi Tochukwu piloted the affairs in the middle of the park, winning second ball, initiating attack and retain possessions which helped the team win on a clean sheet.

AFCON23: Nigerians Owes José Peseiro Apologies

Failure as they said has no friends whilst success comes with lots of friends and family members inclusive.

Success never comes overnight as it requires time, consistency, believing in your craft will surely draw the much needed success closer than expected.

The Nigeria Super Eagles yesterday stepped into the semi-finals of the on-going African Cup Of Nations In Abidjan, Ivory Coast following its 1-0 win over Angola, all thanks to Lookman Ademola first half goal which was enough to separate the two sides at full time.

Prior to the African Cup Of Nations, the Nigeria Super Eagles were written off by its own country people following the team strings of poor run with its Portuguese gaffer, Jose Peseiro, described as an ‘incompetent’ Coach by many Nigeria Football enthusiasts.

José Peseiro suffered all manner of insults and cyber bullying by Nigerians as well as in the hands of the Nigeria Football Federation as he was forced to take a pay but he was undeterred knowing his worth and ability.

Nigeria Super Eagles Coach, Jose Peserio, suffered all manner of negative criticism from Nigeria Football enthusiasts, Journalists and Pundits starting from its Provisional list for the AFCON down to his list of 25 players for the competition.

The Portuguese gaffer amidst all negative criticism remained focused and never allowed side talks from naysayers distract him as he knows his Onion and was ready to prove it.

“We said it, the Nigeria Super Eagles team is too big for Jose Peserio to handle, the team cannot qualify for group stages ” these were words of many Nigerians, pundits and analysts after the team 1-1 draw in its first game in Group A against Equatorial Guinea.

The team squared up against host Nation, Ivory Coast and cruised to a 1-0 win and went ahead to record a 1-0 win over Guinea-Bissau to secure a place in the round of 16 but still, the Coach Jose Peserio tutored side was under fire as they described the team qualification as a fluke.

In all group stages, the Nigeria Super Eagles team conceded only once and still stretched its clean-sheet with their 2-0 win over Cameroon in the round of 16 down to its 1-0 win over Angola in the quarter-finals.

Against all odds, against all criticism by Naysayers, Coach Jose Peserio has silenced all criticism against him with success stories following the Nigeria Super Eagles qualifications for the semi-finals of the AFCON.

At this point, Nigerian football enthusiasts, Journalists, Analysts and Pundits needs to unanimously come together and tender an apology to the Nigeria Super Eagles gaffer as his big feats in the AFCON has brought smiles in the faces of millions of Nigerians who called for his sack prior to the competition.

As early stated, Success takes time and requires consistent as Jose Peserio has turned around the fortunes of the Nigeria Super Eagles team in the AFCON with its high level of consistency in formations and personnel’s.

With the team setting it’s eyes on the trophy, Portuguese gaffer, Jose Peserio deserves an apology letter from all Nigerians who doubted his ability.
