Across various European countries, Nigerians stood up to be counted as they helped their team to league triumphs and cup titles

While some came so close in major European finals and lost by fine margins, others had the stroke of luck to power their fortunes as they made history.

Here is a list of Nigerian players who tasted glory with their clubs in Europe in the 2023–24 season.

1. Sunday Adetunji (NK Celje, Slovenia)

In his first year stint in the Slovenia top flight league, Adetunji brought his ‘Goodluck Charm’ to the NK Celje team which help the team emerge champions of the Slovenia League.

12. Emmanuel Umeh (Botev Plovdiv, Bulgaria)

The sensationAl Nigeria Under-20 star turned the face of Botev Plovdiv in their sojourn in the 2023/2024 season.

Scoring a goal in the semi finals and in the finals, the Nigerian star marked his outstanding season with a trophy as Botev Plovdiv emerged Bulgarian cup champions.

16. Bobby Clement (Elbasani, Albania)

The Nigerian youngster in his first season with Botev Plovdiv infused his name ‘Success’ into the team with his performance which earned the team the Bulgarian cup.

Atuloma Emeka: Nigerian Midfielder Relishes Al Ettihad Experience



Nigerian international, Emeka Atuloma has relished his experience playing with Bahraini based side, Al Ettihad Bahrain, in the just concluded Bahrain second division 2023/2024 season.

Holidaying in Nigeria, the utility player in a chat with Nigerian journalist, Nwosu ‘Chygoz’ Chigozie, bared his experience in the just concluded season playing for Al Ettihad.

“It was a sweet experience playing for a wonderful club like Al Ittihad, they club has one of the best fan base and they kept lending their support to their darling team althrough the season”

“The league is quiet demanding but never took me long to adopt as I have played in the country in the last two years so am used to the food and their weather”

“It was no doubt a remarkable season for me, had the most number of matches and equally helped the team always anytime defending the badge”

“Am looking forward to the next challenge which will be made public in the coming weeks” cheerful Atuloma concluded.

Known for his bullish nature in the middle of the park and his ability to play in more than one position, Atuloma remained handful and ever present in the stars studded Al Ittihad team.

The Nigerian midfielder has played in numerous leagues as he list Al-Shabab as his former clubside.
