Ten (10) Outstanding Nigerian Players In The UEFA Europa & Conference League

Europe’s biggest club competitions, the Europa League and UEFA conference league made a return yesterday with over (16) games in the offing of the two continental tournaments.

The two competitions had Nigerian players, and as a result, Nigerian based journalist, Nwosu Chigozie (Chygoz) takes us on a review of the performance of Nigerian stars with their various clubsides.

1. Victor Boniface (Union Royale, Belgium)
In-form Boniface was the strong man for Union Saint-Gilloise, the Nigerian striker scored a brace in his side 3-3 draw against Union Berlin.

2. Samuel Chukwueze (Villarreal, Spain)
Red-hot ‘Samu’ added to his assist tally as he served the assist to Villarreal only goal in their (1-1) draw against Belgian side Anderlecht.

3. Abdulrazak Ishaq (Anderlecht, Belgium)
Nigerian ‘Golden Boy’ was an unused sub in Anderlecht share of spoils against Spanish side, Villarreal.

4. Terem Moffi (OG Nice, France)
Moffi was on parade and played a role in OG Nice 1-0 win against Moldovan Top-flight League champions, Sheriff Tiraspol

5. Rasheed Akanbi (Sheriff Tiraspol, Moldova)
The gangling talisman was a second half sub in his side disappointing slim defeat against OG Nice.

6. Believe Atiemwen (Sheriff Tiraspol, Moldova)
Believe Atiemwen who led Sheriff Tiraspol attack fired blank as his side were condemned to a 0-1 slim defeat.

7. Gift Orban (Gent, Belgium)
Man of the moment, Orban struck again to aid KAA Gent settle for a draw against its Turkish based opponent’s

8. Leke James (Sivasspor, Turkey)
After scoring a brace at the weekend, Leke was a second half substitute in Sivasspor 1-0 loss against Fiorentina.

9. Ahmed Musa (Sivasspor, Turkey)
The Super Eagles skipper was also a second half substitute in Sivasspor disappointing outing in Italy.

10. Uche Agbo (Slovan Bratislava, Slovakia)
Nigerian International, Uche Agbo was in the line up of the Slovan Bratislava team who fought back for a share of spoils against Swiss side, Basel.

Super Eagles Defender Bruno Onyemaechi Makes Liga Portugal Team of The Week

Nigeria international Bruno Onyemaechi has been named in the Liga Portugal Team of The Week for match-day 25 following an impressive performance despite his side disappointing home defeat.

Onyemaechi who played from the left back position was the cynosure of all eyes as he was rugged defensively and a menace to the opponent’s backline offensively.

The Super Eagles star was handed a deserving start in the starting XI by Petit and he went ahead to hug headlines following his stellar performance in the game.

The 23-year-old utility player played out all 90mins in the keenly contested fixture as he recorded a decent number of completed passes and recovery defensively.

Ibrahim Olawoyin Makes Turkish TFF First League Team of The Week

Nigeria international Ibrahim Olawoyin has been named in the TFF First League Team of The Week for match-day 27 following an impressive performance that inspired Çaykur Rizespor Kulübü to a resounding 3-1 home win against Altay Spor Kulübü.

Olawoyin was the major catalyst as the Karadeniz Atmacası claimed a convincing 3-1 win at Yeni Rize Şehir Stadium on Saturday.

The In-Form Nigerian was handed a deserving start in the starting XI by Bülent Korkmaz and he went ahead to hug headlines following his stellar performance in the game.

Super Eagles camp bubbles with 19 players Following Bruno Onyemaechi’s arrivals

The Nigeria Super Eagle’s camp bubbled and has its numbers of players increase to (19) with the arrival of Boavista Futebol Clube defender, Bruno Onyemaechi as well as other invited foreign pros ahead of the team all important fixture against Guinea-Bissau side.

In a bid to book a place in the AFCON, the Nigeria Super Eagle’s will be engaging in a doubleheader Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Guinea-Bissau later this month

The Super Eagles will play the first leg at the Moshood Abiola Stadium, Abuja on March 24 with the second leg taking place three days later at the 24 de Setembro Nacional Stadium.

In view of the important fixture, Nigeria Super Eagles gaffer, José Peseiro, have listed (24) players to execute the two legged qualifiers series.
