Sunusi Ibrahim: Nigeria Centre-Forward Scores In CF Montréal Defeat

Nigerian international, Sunusi Ibrahim, was on the scoresheet regardless his side, CF Montréal, disappointing defeat to Columbus Crew on Matchday 34.

The Nigerian star was handed a start, a deserved start in the XI which he repaid with a goal, CF Montréal only goal in the keenly contested fixture.

COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) — Darlington Nagbe scored the winner in the second half and the Columbus Crew clinched a top-four seed in Major League Soccer’s Eastern Conference, while eliminating CF Montreal from post-season play with a 2-1 victory on Saturday night.

Columbus (16-9-9) finishes 12-1-4 at home this season, posting a club-record 40 points. The Crew’s previous record was 38 in 2017. The Crew have just one loss at home in their last 27 matches in all competitions.

Nagbe took a pass from defender Malte Amundsen five minutes into the second half and scored for a third time this season.

Sunusi Ibrahim used an assist from Zachary Brault-Guillard in the seventh minute to give Montreal (12-17-5) the early lead.

Cucho Hernández scored the equalizer for the Crew in the 17th minute when he snagged a pass from defender Steven Moreira to notch his 16th goal this season. Hernández’s 27-goal contributions this season are the third most in club history. Hernández has scored 10 goals since the start of September, tops in the league

Patrick Schulte saved one shot for Columbus. Jonathan Sirois had three saves for Montreal.

Montreal entered play having won two of its last three matches in Columbus after going 1-9-2 in its first 12 trips there.

Montreal totalled only eight points on the road this season, going 2-13-2. Last season the club had 11 wins away from home, the most by any club in the post-shootout era (2000 on).

Nigeria duo of Goodluck Igbokwe and Ahmed Abdullahi added to their goal tally in the Belgian National Division 1 following their goal involvement in KAA Gent B 0-4 win away from home against Heist.

The Nigeria Under-20 duo has been in astonishing form in the colours of Gent B with handful of goals to their name with red-hot forward Ahmed Abdullahi leading the goal scorers chart with 10goals.

Following its lose on Matchday 12, Heist braced up for a tough test against Gent B as they eye a win and a change of fortune to turn around their position on the log.

Hoping to climb on the log, Gent B filed out against Heist on Matchday 13 hoping to sustain its winning streak.

First half of the game went the way of the visitors as Gent B opened scoring at the 21st minute to lead at half time.

In the second half, Nigeria forward, Ahmed Abdullahi doubled Gent B lead before the team killed off the game with (2) more goals and Nigeria forward, Goodluck Igbokwe closing scoring with his 80th minute goal to earn the fixture on a win for Gent B on a 0-4 score line

Chidera Ejuke, Super Eagles forward, has won the Royal Antwerp goal of the month award for November

The winner was announced on the team Instagram page earlier today

The Nigerian scored an exquisite goal in Royal Antwerp 1-1 stalemate against Koninklijke Sint-Truidense Voetbalvereniging, a goal which served a point for the team.

The goal came in the 81st minute of the second half as Koninklijke Sint-Truidense Voetbalvereniging were already cruising to a slim home win but Ejukes goal ensured a share of spoils.
