Sunday Adetunji: Super Eagles Striker Named Best Foreign Player In Macedonia

Nigerian international, Sunday Adetunji, added another feather to his exciting football career after been named best foreign player in the Northern Macedonian topflight league.

The year under review (2022) was a huge success for Nigerian forward Sunday Adetunji as he fired North Macedonia club FC Shkupi to league title win, emerging league top-scorer in the process with 20 goals.

For his performance in 2022, Adetunji was named the best foreign player in the Macedonia First League, an award the forward is excited to receive.

Excited to received my award as the 2022 Best Foreign Player in the League. ”

” I am dedicating the award to everyone who has supported my career” the talisman wrote on his Instagram account

For the 2022/2023 season, Adetunji has featured 13 times for Goce Sedloski tutored FC Shkupi before the break.

The champions are currently placed 2nd place with 34 points, three points behind table toppers Struga though the latter has played a game more.

Shkupi will continue preparations ahead of the February 19 league resumption date with a friendly game against Pobeda on January 16.

Energetic and youthful Super Eagles defender, Bruno Onyemaechi, has been named Boavista Futebol Clube, Player of the Month for March after a series of standout performances for the club.

The young defender played a vital role in the team’s games against Arouca and Famalicao, making several crucial tackles, interceptions, and ground duels.

Despite Boavista’s 3-0 defeat to Sporting Lisbon, Onyemaechi showed great resilience and played a strong game in the team’s subsequent loss to Famalicao. His contributions on the offensive end, including accurate crosses and key passes, were also a key factor in the team’s performances throughout the month.

In addition to his club success, Onyemaechi’s impressive form was recognized with a call-up to the Nigerian national team for their back-to-back games against Guinea-Bissau in the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.

Although he did not feature in either match, the call-up was a significant accomplishment for the 23-year-old defender.

Despite receiving his first international call-up in the lead-up to the friendly against Portugal in November, Onyemaechi is yet to make his debut for the Super Eagles

Nevertheless, his recent performances for Boavista have caught the attention of fans and scouts alike, and he will be eager to continue his impressive form as the team faces Maritimo in their upcoming match.
