Sixteen (16) Super Eagles Players To Watch Out For This Weekend



After an action filled International break, European leagues actions will be coming under way this weekend as teams continue their quest for domestic glory.

With a narrow qualification for the CAF World Cup qualifiers Play-offs, Nigerian Super Eagles players who has returned back to base will look forward to continue their impressive form with their various clubs.

Here is a preview of Super Eagles players to be on the watch out for this weekend.

Leicester City striker, Kelechi Iheanacho,

played a vital role in the Super Eagles narrow qualification as he won a penalty for his side in their (2-0) convincing win against Liberia.

Iheanacho and his side English based clubside, Leicester City will be faced with an uphill task when they host Chelsea on Saturday.

2.Frank Onyeka (Brentford, England)

Frank Onyeka played one out of the two Super Eagles of Nigeria matches during the International break.

The Brentford midfielder is expected to line up with his side at the Weeknd when they pay a visit to honour a fixture against, Newcastle.

3.Cyril Dessers (Feyenoord, Netherland)

Red hot, Cyril Dessers, wasn’t called up for National duty during the International break but the striker still continued his impressive goal scoring form in a club friendly.

Dessers is expected to be on parade with his Dutch side on Sunday afternoon when they trade tackles with Zwolle.

4.Calvin Bassey (Rangers, Scotland)

The Super Eagles left full back wasn’t involved during the International with the Nigeria Super Eagles, the defender will be all out at the weekend when his Scottish side host, Hibernian, in one of the cup games lines up in Scotland.

5. Joe Aribo (Rangers, Scotland)

The Super Eagles midfielder who played all two matches during the International break will be up for selection when his Scottish giants trade tackles with Hibernian.

6.Kenneth Omeruo (Leganes, Spain)

The big centre back who was an unused Sub in Super Eagles team during his international break will be on parade with Leganes as they face Real Zaragoza on Monday.

7.Zaidu Sanusi (FC Porto, Portugal)

The left full back who returned with the Super Eagles during their international break is expected to be on parade when his Portuguese side faces, CD Feriense in a cup game.

7.Ndidi Wilfred (Leicester City)

Workaholic, Ndidi Wilfred, who returned and featured for the Super Eagles during the international break will look forward to play for Leicester City this weekend after a lay off owing to Injury.

The Leicester team will face Chelsea at the King Power Stadium on Saturday.

8. Ola Aina (Torino, Italy)

The Super Eagles right back was an unused sub during the International break, Aina and his Italian Seria A outfit, Torino, will look forward to bounce back to winning ways when they face Udinese at home on Monday.

9.Chidera Ejuke (CSKA Moscow, Russia)

Ejuke played in the Super Eagles double games during the International break. The skilful winger will look forward to add to his goal count as they face, Khimki, at home on Sunday.

10. Ahmed Musa (Faith Karagumruk, Turkey)

The Nigeria Super Eagles skipper came on as a substitute twice in the qualifiers gamess Durinf the international break. Musa and his Turkish based outfit will look forward to bounce back to winning ways when they face, Kasimpasa on Sunday.

11. Innocent Bonke (Malmo FF, Sweden)

The Super Eagles rock solid defensive midfielder was missing in Action with the Super Eagles during the International break but will be available for his Swedish side when they face Häcken.

12. Moses Simon (Nantes, France)

The French based Super Eagles winger who featured in the qualifiers games during the International break will face PSG alongside his French side,Nantes.

13. Samuel Kalu (Bordeaux, France)

The Winger who pulled out of the Super Eagles squad for the qualifiers and his French side will face, Metz, on Sunday afternoon as they strive to improve its position on the log.

14. Victor Osimhen (Napoli, Italy)

The Super Eagles talisman who scored twice during the International break will look forward to increase his goal tally as they face Inter Milan on Sunday evening.

15. Samuel Chukwueze (Villareal,Spain)

Chukwueze who was an unused sub during the International break and his yellow Submarines will have their hands full when the host Celta Vigo at home on Sunday.

16. Paul Onuachu (Genk, Belgium)

The current Belgian topflight league highest Goalscorer who came up as a late substitute at the International break will look forward to increase his goal tally as his Belgian side, Genk, faces Beerschot on Sunday evening in the Belgian topflight league.

Joshua Akpudje: Rock-Solid Nigeria Defender Listed In Erovnuli Liga TOTW



Highly rated Nigerian defender, Joshua Akpudje, has been listed in the Erovnuli Liga Team Of The Week following his stellar performance in FC Dinamo Tbilisi 2-0 home win over Samgurali.

Akpudje and his FC Dinamo Tbilisi side squared up against Samgurali in its first Matchday of the season hoping to start on the front foot with a victory when the two sides lock horns at the Boris Paichadze Dinamo Arena.

The keenly contested fixture had the host, FC Dinamo Tbilisi opening scoring at the 10th minute and doubled its lead at the 32nd second goal to end the first half infront and all maximum points at full time.

Rock-solid Nigerian defender, Joshua Akpudje, who lasted for all 90mins in the fixture was a beauty to watch as he marshaled the team backline expertly to ensure a win with a clean-sheet.

Joining FC Dinamo Tbilisi, Joshua Akpudje heartwarming display in the fixture against Samgurali earned him a place in the team of the week alongside other players who were outstanding with their various clubs.

News: Super Eagles Captain Ahmed Musa terminates contract with Turkish top club Sivasspor




Ahmed Musa Parts Ways with Sivasspor FC by Mutual Consent

In a surprising turn of events, Nigerian international Ahmed Musa has ended his stint with Turkish giants Sivasspor FC. Both parties reached a mutual agreement to terminate the player’s contract, which was announced earlier last week.

Ahmed Musa, who’s known for his blistering pace and attacking prowess, joined Sivasspor with high expectations.
