Africa’s biggest soccer Fiesta, the African Nations Cup, is expected to hold next year with Cameroon as the host nation as well as many qualified nations in attendance.

Ahead of th qualifying series and the competition proper, countries are building a solid side ahead of the competition, calling up players of their Country decent and handing them invitation in fortifications of their team.

8. Iheanacho x Ndidi x Amartey (Leicester City)


Leicester City will be without the service of three of its integral squad members by January when the AFCON begins.

9. Salah x Mane x Keita (Liverpool)


Jurgen Klopp will be faced with major challenges when the Africa Nations cup begins next year. Mo Salah will no doubt team up with the Egyptian nation team, Mane with the Senegalese national team as well ass Naiby Keita.

10. Mahrez (Manchester City)


Mahrez ranks as the only player that will be missed in the Manchester City when the African Nations Cup kicks off next year as he will be teaming up with Algerian National team.

11. Amad x Bailly (Manchester United)


Unlike Manchester City, Manchester United will be without the services of it’s two boys who would be with the Ivorian National team when the AFCON begins next year.

12. Djenepo x Salisu (Southampton)


Southampton will loose two of its good players to the AFCON by January as they would be teaming up with their countries.

13. Ekong x Dennis x Sarr x Masina (Watford)


Watford will be hit with a heavy blow when the African Nations Cup kicks off next year. Nigerian duo of Ekong and Dennis are expected to make the list for the Super Eagles as well as Sarr and Masina for their various countries.

In a statement, the club said: ‘We have parted ways with professional football player Emirhan Delibas by mutual agreement. We wish him success in his future career.’

Though the official reasoning behind the decision was not confirmed, it is likely to have been connected to Delibas’ alleged profile on dating app Bumble.

On his page, a photo of Delibas wearing Besiktas’ training kit and holding a drink was accompanied by his name and age, though the number falsely claimed he is 24.

His description told matchers that he was a footballer for the club, provided his Instagram handle and revealed that he was looking for ‘something casual’.

In a twist, however, the player has looked to distance himself from the profile.

In a statement on Instagram, he said: ‘I reject the slanders made by fake accounts and would like to state that my loyalty to my team cannot be questioned.

‘Besiktas is a responsibility for me. Your love has been my greatest motivation.’

2023 FIFA Women World Cup: Super Falcons Squad Numbers Unveiled

With the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup opening games scheduled for this Thursday, the shirt numbers of Nigeria’s Super Falcons were revealed earlier today with most players retaining their traditional Jersey numbers

In the goalkeeping area, first choice goalkeeper, retained her Jersey Number 16 whilst Balogun and Oluehi opted for Jersey Number 23 and 1 respectively.

Barcelona Feminine’ upfront, Asisat Oshala retained her number 8 with the number 9 shirt handed to Desire Oparanozie and Athletico Madrid Feminine Rashedaat Ajibade taking her trade mark Jersey Number 15.

At the backline, old war horse Onome Ebi and her center back pair,Plumptre retained their Jersey number 2 and 5. In the middle of the park, Ucheibe and Monday gift went for Jersey number 10 and 11.

In the Forward line; Ordega and Kanu will put on jersey number 12 and 17 respectively. Highly rated Payne and Echegini will wear 7 and 19.

The Super Eagles will start their campaign at the 2023 Women World Cup against Canada on July 21st.

Nigeria will then face Australia on July, 27th before the final group game versus Republic of Ireland on July 31st.
