French Ligue 1 outfit, Montpellier Hérault Sport Club, have completed the signing of highly rated Nigerian striker, Akor Adams from Norwegian side, Lillestrøm Sportsklubb.

No one has forgotten May 20, 2012 and John Utaka’s famous double at the Stade de l’Abbé Deschamps in Auxerre.

A double that brought John into the MHSC’s guest book for eternity. Eleven years later, the Montpellier club has again decided to bet on a Nigerian striker in the person of Akor Adams.

Complete forward, this 23-year-old player is able to fix a defense, play in pivot or deviations, but his large size (1m90) does not prevent him from combining his natural power with a very interesting execution speed.

At the end of a season accomplished with his club in Lillestrøm (Norway), with which he scored 15 goals in 15 games in the last exercise, Akor made the big leap by joining the MHSC where he knows he was highly anticipated: “I have a very good feeling when I arrived here. I think I’m coming to the right place, at the right time to cross a level. I look forward to meeting everyone and starting this adventure, “he stressed during his signing. “I have already done a pre-season with my old club so I feel physically good, sharp and ready to play this first game with my new teammates.

I arrive at a club that has ambitions in this French championship and, as a striker, I also have some personally. I hope to help the team as much as possible by scoring goals and being decisive for the team in the broad sense of the term and that we can win as many games as possible together. ”

For his part, President Laurent Nicollin seemed very satisfied that Akor Adams’ arrival was effective: “I am delighted with Akor’s arrival. If he is as good as what he is happy to sign with us, I am convinced that he may be a very nice surprise.

I wish him much success, to score a lot of goals and that he makes the Butte rise. I think he’s looking for that and that he deserves it. I hope that the recruitment cell has found the right nugget to score goals and help the team get good results. ”

To conclude, the new Montpellier recruit wanted to send a message to his new supporters: “I have seen and heard a lot of things about them and I look forward to meeting them. I promise them to always give my best and I am sure we will have a good time together. “Welcome Akor! We all wish you the same success as John!
