NPFL22: Nigeria Professional League Clubs, Stadia and Coaches



After many months of waiting for the commencement of the a new Nigeria professional football league season, the wait finally would be over as the games are billed to kick off at the weekend.

Ahead of the 2021/2022 Nigeria professional football league season, below is a list of clubs who would be campaigning in the new season, their various Coaches as well as their stadium names.

1. Abia Warriors (Umuahia, Abia State)
The Coach Imama Amapakabo tutored side would be in campaign when the new season comes underway at the weekend.

Owing to the bad state of the usual abode of the Umuahia warriors, the team would still continue with their adopted home ground at the Okigwe Township Stadium.

2. Akwa United (Akwa Ibom, Uyo)
The ‘Promise Keepers’ who are the league defending champions would look forward to pose a threat when the new season begins at the Weeknd.

The Coach Kennedy Bobye tutored side would be exciting their league games still at the main bowl of the Godswill Akpabio Stadium.

3. Enugu Rangers Intl (Enugu State, Enugu)
The Flying Antelopes who missed a Continental slot by whisker’s will be out to regain it this term.

The Coach Abdul Maikaba tutored side who not been executing their home games at the Nnamdi Azikwe stadium in Enugu .

4. Enyimba Int’l (Abia State, Aba)
The seven times Nigeria professional football league champions will be up and running in the new campaign.

The Coach Findi George tutored side would be executing their home games at the Enyimba International stadium.

5. Kwara United (Kwara State, Ilorin)
The Ilorin based outfit who were unfortunate in getting a Continental slot will have an opportunity to try again when the new season begins.

The Coach Abdullahi Biffo would still play their home games at the Ilorin Stadium.

6. Nasarawa United (Nasarawa State, Lafia)
The Lafia based side who ranked as one the team of the season will be upto recreating their last term exciting campaign.

The Coach Bala Nikiyu tutored side would still play their games at the Lafia township stadium.

7. Heartland (Imo state, Owerri)
The Naze millionaires will be looking forward to improve their last term performance under a new Coach.

The Coach Hassan Abdallah tutored side would still maintain their Dan Anyiam Stadium for it’s home fixtures

8. Niger Tornadoes (Minna)
The Nigeria professional football league new comers who strive to announce their return back to the Nigeria topflight league.

The Coach Abubakar Bala tutored side would be executing their home matches in Ilorin at the Ilorin Stadium.

9. Remo Stars (Ogini State, Ikenne)
The Nigeria professional football league new comers would be a force to reckon with when the new season kicks off, their Pre-seson form suggests.

The Coach Gbenga Ogunbote tutored side will bee executing their home games at the Remo Stars stadium in Ikenne.

10. Lobi Stars (Benue State, Makurdi)
The Benue based outfit will be a team to look out for owing to their recruitment.

The Coach Eddy Lord Dombraye, will be executing their home games at the Aper Aku stadium.

11. Rivers United (Rivers State)
The stars Studded Pride of Rivers State will be a team to watch out for, their recruitment was top notch.

The Coach Stanley Eguma tutored side will be using their Adokiye stadium to play their home games.

12. Dakkada (Akwa Ibom, Uyo)
The Akwa United bitter rival’s will be upto their usual mission of upsetting ‘Big teams’ when the league starts.

The Coach Umar Danlami and his side would be using the Godswill Akpabio Stadium as well with Akwa United

13. Sunshine Stars (Ondo State, Akure)
The Akure based side who miraculously escaped relegation will be fighting for laurels this time.

The coach Ayodeji Ayeni and his warsa would be playing their home games at the, Akure stadium in Ondo.

14. MFM (Lagos State)
The Church owned Clubside would equally look forward to their usual upset of big team when the season starts.

The Coach Olalekan Gabriel and his ward would still be using the Soccer Temple as it’s home ground.

15. Shooting Stars (Ibadan)
The Nigeria professional football league new comers will be upto mischief of upsetting top clubs when the season gets underway.

The Coach Edith Agoye and his team would be using the , Lekan Salami Stadium, as their home ground.

16. Wikki Tourist (Bauchi State)
The Bauchi based team will look forward to continue their impressive for when the season starts at the weekend.

The Coach Kabiru Dogo tutored side would be using the Abubarkar Tafawa Balewa Stadium, as it’s home ground.

17. Plateau United (Plateau United, Jos)
The former Champions will be out to regain it’s place in the Nigeria topflight league in the coming season.

The Coach Fidelis Ilechukwu tutored side are believed to make use of the New Jos Stadium as their home turf.

18. Gombe United (Gombe State)
The Gombe State based outfit who made a return back to the Top-flight League will look forward to make huge statements.

The Coach Aliyu Zubairu would still make use of the Pantami Stadium after been certified.

19. Katsina United (Katsina State)
The Katsina side who has been unannounced making good signings will look forward to take people unawares in the new season .

The Coach Azeez Mohammed, tutored side would be using the gigantic, Muhammadu Dikko Stadium for their home games.

20. Kano Pillars (Kano State)
The Pillars who has been outstanding in their Pre-seson tournaments looks more like title favourites.

The Coach Salisu Yusuf tutored side would be using the, Ahmadu Bello Stadium as it’s home ground.

Seamoriow FC Shines Bright in Thrilling Victory Against Leads United FC.



In a gripping showdown at the Seamoriow Sports Complex earlier today, Seamoriow FC once again showcased their prowess on the field, clinching a sensational 4-3 triumph over Leads United FC.

The match, marked by breathtaking goals and intense moments, kept fans from the neighbourhood who saw the game on the edge of their seats until the final whistle.

The action-packed encounter saw Seamoriow’s Paul Salako setting the tone early with a stunning goal in the 15th minute, swiftly followed by Saka’s precise strike from a low angled shot in the 20th minute. Akinjide Johnson further fueled the team’s momentum with a good finish in the 29th minute, leaving the opposition reeling. Despite a valiant effort from Leads United FC, Adeshina Lekan’s penalty in the 62nd minute sealed the victory for Seamoriow FC.

Reacting to the exhilarating win, the Chairman/Proprietor of Seamoriow FC expressed immense pride in the team’s performance, stating, “We are thrilled by this victory, which is a testament to the hard work and dedication of our players. Seamoriow FC will next take on Breeding Professionals FA at the Legacy Practise pitch on Sunday, 25th of February in preparation for the Africa Selected All Stars Scouting Tournament the club will be participating in billed for 26th – 28th February at the practice pitch, Surulere, Lagos

ABIA Warriors Vs Remo Stars: CEO Banana Island Offers Free Bus To Fans On Sunday



The Banana Island CEO, Mr Francis Chilaka, will provide free bus to Abia Warriros fans, who come out en mass to support the team as they host Remo Stars Football Club at the Enyimba FC Stadium on Sunday.

Following the Umuahia township stadium ban by the League Organizers, the Umuahia based will welcome the ‘Sky Blue Stars’ in their temporary home stadium in Aba in one of the Matchday 20 fixtures billed for the weekend.

“Playing away from your traditional home ground can be difficult in football but we’re planning to make it a home away from home for the Abia Warriros with our usual support”

“The free bus will ensure the fans will be on the stands to cheer the team this will be added advantage for the team playing at its temporary home ground”

“Efforts has been made by the Club Chairman, Chief John Obuh, to return the team back to Umuahia soonest as their has been steady progress in work on the playing turf as well on the stadium environs”

“Before we return back to Umuahia, the team needs to bounce back to winning ways and that’s why the fans will be present to ginger their spirit “ he concluded.

Mr. Francis Chilaka who doubles as a Board member of the Abia Warriors management has been in the frontline in ensuring massive support for the Umuahia warlords as he offers different kinds of moral and financial support to the Abia Warriors team.

Amongst the contingent moving from Umuahia to Aba for the crunchy fixture is Chairman Abia State House Member on Sports, Hon. Chinasa Abiola, as well as other well meaning Abians.

When the games gets underway in ABA on Sunday, Abia Warriros who lost to Remo Stars on Matchday 19 will be out to make up for the lost points when the trade tackles on Matchday 20 in the first game of the league second round.

NPFL Youth League: The Abia Warriors Boys Were Brave Enough- Francis Chilaka



Abia Warriors Board member and football enthusiast, Francis Chilaka, has thumbed up Abia Warrior’s Under-17 lads for their bravery following their 2-2 stalemate against city neighbors, Enyimba International Under-17, in it’s first game in the South-East, zone of the on-going NPFL youth league in Enugu State.

The popular philanthropist and business guru who has been in the Coal City with the team affirmed the boys resilience which earned the team a point in the keenly contested fixture.

“It’s a derby game and the fixture lived up to it’s billing as the two young lads displayed their football artistry”

“Kudos to the boys, Abia Warriros, for their efforts as there is more room for improvement going into the next game”

In the excited fixture which ended in a stalemate, Abia Warriors side were the side who stole the show as they came with a late goal to steal headline in the fixture watched by NPFL dignitaries.

To earn the South-East slot to the National level, Abia Warriors Under-17 in it’s subsequent games will trade tackless with Heartland, Rangers Under-17 sides
