Nigeria Eligible Striker, A ‘Super Sub’ In Hungary

Nigeria eligible striker, Meshack Ubochima, was a ‘Super Sub’ in the Hungarian, OTP Bank Liga, as he came off the bench to net the winning goal for his side, Zalaegerszegi TE, (2-1) home win against, Debreceni VSC.

Inconsistent,Zalaegerszegi TE, were faced with a litmus test on Matchday Fifteen (15) of the current campaign as they squared up against, Debreceni VSC, in a mid table clash.

Debreceni VSC who had been awful in their three (3) last fixtures hoped to bounce back to winning ways as they paid a visit to the, ZTE Arena Zalaegerszegi, for a date with Zalaegerszegi TE.

The much anticipated fixture lived up to its billing with the two sides showcasing exciting football artistry to the fans delight.

Zalaegerszegi TE pressure in the opponent’s final third paid off at the 26th minute as Hungarian Midfielder, Mark Koszta, broke the deadlock with an exquisite goals.

All efforts by the visitors to draw level before the half time was unfruitful as, Zalaegerszegi TE guided it’s precious lead heading back to the locker room.

Just like the first half, the host started the second period the stronger of the two sides, as the search for a doubler which proved difficult.

Debreceni VSC sent the home side fans to moments of decorum as it’s Hungarian international Midfielder, Balazs Dzsudzsak, struck back at the 66th minute to bring the two side on level terms.

With all hope seeming blurry, Nigerian international winger, Meshack Ubochima, who was thrown into the foray at 69th minute turned a ‘Messiah’ for his Hungarian team as his first touch upon introduction kissed back of the net to the fans delight.

The remaining few minutes left to be played afterwards, Meshack Ubochima, goal wasn’t enough to change things for the visitors as they returned back to base empty handed.

The Nigeria Super Eagles after a long-while bounced back to winning ways following their 3-0 convincing win over Benin Republic in one of the 2025 African Cup Of Nations qualifiers played yesterday at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium, Uyo, Akwa Ibom State, Nigeria.

Following the team overall performance, one name, a Super Eagles player has been continually mentioned by Nigeria football enthusiasts across various social media platforms following his remarkable and solid performance against Benin Republic.

Boavista Futebol Clube of Portugal defender, Bruno Onyemaechi, is that one Super Eagles player who has been on the lips of many as some are yet to get over the incredible performance of the rock-solid defender.

Played out all 90mins, Bruno was an absolute beauty in the heart of the Eagles backline as he ran the show from the left-back position expertly.

After cutting his teeth in the game at Collins Edwin Football Club in his homeland, Born April 3rd 1999, Bruno journey to stardom started off after been scouted and discovered by top Portuguese Football Agent, Tiago Calisto, of the TGC Management.

Known for giving African players platforms to strive, Tiago Calisto facilitated the transfer of the then unheralded Bruno Onyemaechi from Collins Edwin to Portuguese club, Clube Desportivo Feirense.

The rest the said is history, Bruno Onyemaechi continued to carve a niche for himself in the Portuguese League and remained ever present in the stars studded Clube Desportivo Feirense team following his ability to function in more than one position.

Bruno Onyemaechi hardwork and consistency never went unnoticed as the talented Nigerian youngster discovered by Portuguese Football Agent,Tiago Calisto, earned an invite to the Nigeria Senior National team under coach José Peseiro.

Afterwards his first National Team invitation against Guinea Bissau, Onyemaechi’s incredible performance yesterday against Benin Republic remains a testament to the reason why the Boavista Futebol Club player remains the Nigeria Senior National team first choice left-back defender.

Super Eagles forward Ademola Lookman has earned a prestigious nomination for the 2024 Ballon d’Or, solidifying his claim as a top contender for the CAF Men’s Player of the Year award.
