My Journey Into Football Business Started As Social Project – Abraham Charles

Published

on

Abraham Charles Chigozie, a scout with Fmsports9 has stated that the constant requests he got from his peers who were actively involved in the game of football spurred him to venture into the business of football proper.

For him, it first started as a social and corporate project that he felt obliged to fulfill to support and encourage his friends who at the time were pursuing their professional career in the game of football.

” I started this football business when a friend who was seeking to pursue a professional career in football and who wanted to travel out of the country to advance his football career approached me to sponsor the logistics for the trip.

That experience then made me realise not only can I sponsor the logistics for the trip of the player but I can also source and look for opportunities for some of these young lads around me to advance their football career. So I started sourcing for agents and scouts and eventually stumbled on Fmsports9 and during our early conversations, I made the CEO of FMSPORTS9, Mr Femi Bamisaye realised that my dream is to see as many young talents around me fulfill their lifelong dreams of playing professional football and that way we started the process where I was then co-opted into his Agency as a scout.’

Abraham further mentioned that he runs a football club in Port-harcourt that he named Onumara Football Club after his dad where they groom young talents and develop them in preparedness for a professional career and to also present them an opportunity to fulfill their professional football dreams.

“My dad’s dream had always been for me to play professional football. He also played the game and was passionate about it. It was his desire and dream that I would one day play professional football and also get to play professionally with FC Barcelona, a dream that never came through but that also led me to pick interests in the club and that was how the love for the club began and today I am a staunch and passionate fan of FC Barcelona of Spain. I lost my dad while I was in Junior Secondary School and when I became older, I thought how can I keep his memory alive especially in connection to a game he loved, so that led me to start a football club which I named after him” concluded Abraham.
