Moses Cobnan David: Nigeria Eligible Midfielder Painting Slovakia Red With Goals

Ever since the capture of Moses Cobnan David in 2022, Slovak topflight league side, FK Železiarne Podbrezová, have had a striker who has consistently provided good performances week in, week out.

Arguably one of the club’s best signings in recent years. The highly rated 20-year-old Striker had consistently stand out as he swiftly suite into the style of play in Slovakia Fortuna Liga.

In his recent goal scoring feat, Moses Cobnan David single handedly qualified, FK Železiarne Podbrezová into the next stage of the Slovak Cup netting four (4) goals.

STYLE OF PLAY
Nigerian youngster, Moses Cobnan David, is a composed midfielder who is great at building chemistry with his teammates through flick-ons, layoffs and his ability to explore pocket spaces.

. His passing ability and decision-making are impressive, especially when breaking down an assured defence who are typically difficult to break down.

He does not typically attempt to dribble past defenders all too often, although this is an asset, he does have in his footballing inventor.

Moses Cobnan David has pace in abundance, able to take on defenders at ease and create chances with his quick and direct running.

He is also incredibly skilful, something he uses to his advantage. When in tight situations where his pace cannot help him, he uses his quick feet to escape opposing players before exploding into the space.

Due to his pace, he is incredibly effective on the counterattack, whilst also having the ability to get his head up, play the right pass, and pick out a fellow teammate.

His versatility is also impressive. The 20-year-old can play anywhere across the front three, creating chances and scoring goals in equal measure wherever he plays.

He is also a confident and composed finisher in the penalty area, never rushing or panicking when one-on-one with the goalkeeper.

Arguably one of the in-form Nigerian prospect in Europe, Moses Cobnan David, is a player who takes plenty of shots and is often the player to take the most shots in his team.

This is to be expected of a midfielder and should come as no surprise. However, it should be noted that he has much more to his game than just a volume-shot take

The Mecurial midfielder fits in pretty well with FK Železiarne Podbrezová style of play this season.

They tend to keep a high amount of possession and they like to control it in the opposition’s half. On top of this, they play a high line which supplements their aggressive pressing quite nicely.

The team’s favoured formations are 4-2-3-1 or 4-1-4-1 which suits Moses Cobnan David strengths very well. They tend to attack down the middle and use inside forwards to complement this style of play, though interplays of short passing

PASSING AND BUILD-UP
Slovakia Fortuna Liga campaigners, FK Železiarne Podbrezová, prefer to attack at speed and distribute the ball forwards where possible. Due to this desire to play through balls often, they sometimes struggle to maintain possession as they may like to.

Although, he does sometimes utilise his wide runners, such as a bombing full-back.

The promising youngster has evolved into a more complete midfielder for,FK Železiarne Podbrezová, as they transition fairly smoothly.

He is the team’s main source of goals and one of the top creators as well, as he can support his wide attackers.

With a player like him, FK Železiarne Podbrezová can rely on him to bring them out of the dirt whenever they are in a tough situation with his individual talent. Barring that, he can add to a fluid attacking unit.

Moses Cobnan David is arguably the future of the Nigeria National team(s).

Nigerian international, Emeka Atuloma has relished his experience playing with Bahraini based side, Al Ettihad Bahrain, in the just concluded Bahrain second division 2023/2024 season.

Holidaying in Nigeria, the utility player in a chat with Nigerian journalist, Nwosu ‘Chygoz’ Chigozie, bared his experience in the just concluded season playing for Al Ettihad.
