Mid Season Review: 24 Top Scoring Nigerian Strikers

It has been an exciting season across top European and Scandinavian leagues as teams continue their quest to be crowned continental and domestic champions.

With the biggest football fiesta around the corner, Leagues across Europe, Asia, Scandinavia and Africa has recessed into break to re-start their league after the World Cup.

With leagues on break, here is as list of 23 Nigerian stars who has been lucky with goal scoring for their various clubsides.

1. Paul Onuachu (Genk, Belgium)
With 13 goals to his name in the league, Onuachu ranks amongst red-hot Nigerian in Europe.

2. Hoang Vu Samson (Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam)
4 goals to his name, Experienced Nigerian-Vietnamese talisman, Samson has continued to show why he lists as the top scorer in the Vietnamese V-league.

3. Terem Moffi (Lorient, France)
10 goals to his name, Moffi has been handful for his side as he always deliver goals for the team.

4. Victor Osimhen (Napoli, Italy)
9th league goal to his name, Osimhen has been a regular figure in Napoli shirt, scoring goals when it matters most.

5. Tony Edjomariegwe (Tadamon Sporting, Kuwait)
In-form Edjomariegwe has continued showing his worth in his new home, banging goals, week in, week out.

6. Kingsley Eduwo (Al-Arabi, Kuwait)
The Proflic striker hasn’t failed to impress, Eduwo has been an integral squad member of the Al-Arabi firing the team up with goals and assists.

7. Evo Ememe (Mosta, Malta)

6 goals to his name, Ikwuemesi has been tipped for another star in the making, the striker is known for his clinical finishing.

12. Godwin Aguda (Falkenberg, Sweden)
12 goals to his name, Petit Aguda arguably ranks as most inform Nigerian star in diaspora.

13. Henry Onyekuru (Adanaspor, Turkey)

Super Eagles Defender Bruno Onyemaechi Makes Liga Portugal Team of The Week

Nigeria international Bruno Onyemaechi has been named in the Liga Portugal Team of The Week for match-day 25 following an impressive performance despite his side disappointing home defeat.

Onyemaechi who played from the left back position was the cynosure of all eyes as he was rugged defensively and a menace to the opponent’s backline offensively.

The Super Eagles star was handed a deserving start in the starting XI by Petit and he went ahead to hug headlines following his stellar performance in the game.

The 23-year-old utility player played out all 90mins in the keenly contested fixture as he recorded a decent number of completed passes and recovery defensively.

Bruno made the list alongside players of other teams who were outstanding for their various clubsides.

Following his outstanding performance, the Nigerian international is currently on a National team assignment as he teamed up with the rest of the Super Eagles squad earlier today ahead of the team showdown against Guinea-Bissau in an AF ON qualifiers double header.

Ibrahim Olawoyin Makes Turkish TFF First League Team of The Week

Nigeria international Ibrahim Olawoyin has been named in the TFF First League Team of The Week for match-day 27 following an impressive performance that inspired Çaykur Rizespor Kulübü to a resounding 3-1 home win against Altay Spor Kulübü.

Olawoyin was the major catalyst as the Karadeniz Atmacası claimed a convincing 3-1 win at Yeni Rize Şehir Stadium on Saturday.

The In-Form Nigerian was handed a deserving start in the starting XI by Bülent Korkmaz and he went ahead to hug headlines following his stellar performance in the game.

The 25-year-old scored the first goal in the game in the early minutes after he found his way to dribble to goal off an assist from fellow Compatriot, Azubuike Okechukwu.

A first half goal which changed thee game to Çaykur Rizespor Kulübü way as they went ahead to score (2) more goals to bring the final scoreline to 3-1.

‘Brymzy’ made the list alongside players of other teams who were outstanding for their various clubsides.

Will be recalled this would be the second consecutive listing of the Nigerian winger in the best performers list.

Super Eagles camp bubbles with 19 players Following Bruno Onyemaechi’s arrivals

The Nigeria Super Eagle’s camp bubbled and has its numbers of players increase to (19) with the arrival of Boavista Futebol Clube defender, Bruno Onyemaechi as well as other invited foreign pros ahead of the team all important fixture against Guinea-Bissau side.

In a bid to book a place in the AFCON, the Nigeria Super Eagle’s will be engaging in a doubleheader Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Guinea-Bissau later this month

The Super Eagles will play the first leg at the Moshood Abiola Stadium, Abuja on March 24 with the second leg taking place three days later at the 24 de Setembro Nacional Stadium.

In view of the important fixture, Nigeria Super Eagles gaffer, José Peseiro, have listed (24) players to execute the two legged qualifiers series.
