Ifeanyi Mathew Scores Maiden FC Zurich Goal

Nigerian international, Ifeanyi Mathew, opened his goal account in the Swiss topflight league following his sumptuous finish in Zurich FC 4-1 loss to Luzern.

Joining from Norwegian side, Lillestrom, Ifeanyi Mathew outstanding talent has earned him a starting place in the stars studded FC Zurich side.

Squeezing out a point on Matchday 27, Luzern form was put to test with a fixture against FC Zurich at home on Matchday 28.

Four game straight unbeaten form, Zurich were up for a big test on Matchday 28 with a date with in-form FC Zurich side at home.

First half of the game produced (3) goals with the home side Luzern breaking the deadlock at the 28th minute befor getting a double at the 37th minute.

FC Zurich pulled a goal back in the first half with its Nigerian import, Ifeanyi Mathew, scoring a stunner at the 45th minute with the Luzern in lead at half time.

On return for the second half, Luzern went ahead to stretch the game out of sight for Fc Zurich following its goal at the 49th and 64th minute to bring final score line to 4-1.

    Nigerian defender, Ohale Osinachi, has sent strong warnings to South Africa ahead of the Women’s Olympic FIFA World Cup play-off against South Africa later this month as she expertly commanded C.F. Pachuca Femenil backline to clinch a 4-0 win against Santos Laguna (w) on a clean-sheet in one of the fixtures played in the Mexican Femenil earlier today.

    The Super Falcons are set to take on South Africa in a two-match series, with the initial encounter slated for April 5 at the MKO Abiola National Stadium in Abuja.

    The return leg is slated for April 9 at the Loftus Versfeld Stadium in Pretoria.

    The winner of the tie will clinch one of Africa’s two tickets to the Women’s Olympic Football Tournament.

    Ohale who joined Pachuca Femenil at the beginning of the year has continued to stamp authority in the heart of Pachuca Femenil with handful of clean sheets under her belt.

    The rock-solid defender with her experience and calmness in play is believed to help the Nigeria Super Falcons outplay South Africa to clinch one of the spots for Paris Women Olympics.
