Haiti Vs Nigeria: Super Falcons Players Rating

Goals from Esther Okoronkwo and Asisat Oshoala were all the Super Falcons needed to confirm their superiority and record a 2-1 win over Haiti in a pre-World Cup friendly at the Emirhan Sport Center Stadium on Friday.

In Nigeria Super Falcons win after a long while, here is a rating of Nigeria starting XI according to their individual performances.

1. Nnadozie Chiamaka (8/10)
As always, Nnadozie was outstanding regardless not getting a clean-sheet the Paris FC goalkeeper gave a good account of herself the few times she was forced to action.

2. Onome Ebi (8/10)
Ageless Onome was handed another start in the backline for the Falcons. The Skipper was a show as she made clinical tackles on numerous occasions and commanded the backline expertly.

3. Rofiat Imuran (9/10)
Rofiat who marked debut from the backline was a beauty to behold with her timely tackles and good ball playing prowess.

4. Oluwatosin Demehin (9/10)
Another big minutes of action in the tank for 21-year old Oluwatosin Demehin. The Nigerian Defender was handful for the Super Falcons and was quiet promising.

5. Onyi Echegini (8/10)
Echegini who played from the backline stood out in the colours of the Falcons. Good ball distribution and her adventurous style of play was heartwarming.

6. Esther Okoronkwo (9/10)
French based Okoronkwo was the first to opens scoring in the game. Okoronkwo rocket from a set-piece gave the team the needed confidence.

7. Asisat Oshoala (9/10)
The Barcelona forward came through with a goal. A goal after awhile in the colours of the Nigeria Super Falcons

8. Alozie (8/10)
Playing from the channels, Alozie was lively and combined beautifully with the backline and strikers.

9. Antoinette Payne (9/10)
Payne was on rampage in the keenly contested fixture. The striker on different occasions came close to scoring but Was denied by the Haiti goalkeeper brilliance.

10. Halimatu Ayinde (9/10)
Playing from the middle of the park, Ayinde literally won the game for the Falcons, winning second balls and launching attack.

11.Rashedat Ajibade (9/10)
As expected Ajibade was a thorn in the flesh for the Haiti backline, recorded a handful of dribble success and attempts at goal.

Nigeria land in Buenos Aires for Brazil game

The Flying Eagles of Nigeria have arrived in Buenos Aires ahead of their FIFA U-20 World Cup group D clash vs Brazil.

Nigeria and Brazil will lock horns in the final group D matchday away from Mendoza where the Flying Eagles have enjoyed success.

It was in Mendoza that the Coach Ladan Bosso tutored Flying Eagles defeated Dominican and Italy to seal a round of 16 spot with a game to spare.

The team has said goodbye to Mendoza and have returned to Buenos Aires were they underwent final camping before the ongoing U-20 World Cup.

The game between group D third placed team Brazil and first placed Nigeria will take place at the Estadio Unico Diego Maradona in La Plata on Saturday, May 27.

Under-20 World Cup: No Room For Complacency In The Team, We Want To Win Every Game- Tochukwu Nnadi

Botev Plovdiv and Nigerian Under-20 midfielder, Nnadi Tochukwu, has reveled that their wouldn’t be any room for complacency amongst the players as they are steadily working hard to bring the trophy home.

Speaking with Nigerian based Journalists, Nwosu CHIGOZIE, after the pulsating winning game against Italy, the box to box midfielder reassured Nigerians of doing their best to bring the trophy home.

“We worked hard for the last (2) games and that was why we were able to garner all maximum points at stake “

“The two games are done and dusted and we looking forward to our last group game against Brazil and subsequent game which I know is not going to be a tea party.

Mentally and Psychologically. We are prepared to take on any opponent in the tournament, we will only accord them respect but wouldn’t fear them and we coming all out for the trophy, the Botev Plovdiv midfielder concluded.

The Botev Plovdiv duo of Nnadi and Umeh who were thrown into the foray in the second half against Italy lighted up the Flying Eagles team, Bullish Umeh bulldozed his way into the opponents box and grabbed an assist for the first goal whilst Nnadi Tochukwu piloted the affairs in the middle of the park, winning second ball, initiating attack and retain possessions which helped the team win on a clean sheet.

Sensational Emmanuel Umeh Provides Assist In Flying Eagles 2-0 Win

Bullish Nigeria U-20 striker, Emmanuel Umeh, has promised to improve in his performances after grabbing assist to aid Nigeria Flying Eagles clinch a 2-0 win over the Italian U-20 side.

The sensational Botev Plovdiv striker who came off the bench at the assisted Salem Fago for the Flyinh Eagles first goal at the half hour mark and went ahead to work off his socks in contribution to the team success.

Prior to the main competition, Umeh has continually proved his worth grabbing a goal and assist during the team friendly fixtures, a form he replicated last nights.

Speaking with Nigerian based Journo Nwosu CHIGOZIE, soft speaking Umeh attributed the team win to the oneness in the camp which he feels will go a long way in helping them in the competition.

“Am elated to have made a contribution coming off the bench, a vital one for that matter and I’m not going to relent in helping the team”

“I believe the goals will come at when due but we all are focused on winning as a team” visibly elated Umeh concluded
