Five Foreign Based Players Eligible For Nigeria U-20 Team

Haven been crowned champions of WAFU B U-20 Championship in Niamey, Niger Republic, in May, Nigeria U20 team led by Coach Isah Ladan Bosso secured a place to feature in the U-20 AFCON billed for February 18 to March 12, 2023.

In preparations for the soccer fiesta, Nigeria U-20 gaffer gathered a total of 40 local based players and has keep trimming the team with handful of friendlies under their belt.

In the AFCON billed for next year, Nigeria and other qualified teams are allowed to hand invite to foreign based players to beef the squad.

With a slot reserved for foreign based Nigeria U-20 players, here are (5) in-form and eligible players.

1. Stanley Charles (Banik Ostrava, Czech Republic)
The 19year left footed Wing-wizard is a promising star that would give the Nigeria U-20 a great squad depth with his addition.

The sleek winger who models his game around Dutch winger, Arjen Robben, has been in decent for for Czech based side, Baník Ostrava.

2. Obah Prosper (FC Vizela, Portugal)
Nicknamed ‘Kylian Mbappé’ the Portuguese based Speedster obviously has a lot to offer for the Nigeria U20 team following his exploits in FC Vizela.

Obah’s blistering pace and shooting accuracy makes him standout.

3. Emmanuel Ume (Botev Plovdiv, Bulgaria)
Since teaming with Bulgarian side, Botev Plovdiv, Emmanuel has been in terrific form and has use his ‘insane’ pace and strength to lit up the Bulgarian topflight league ko II,.

4. Goodnews Igbokwe (FC Noah, Armenia)
Arguably one of Nigeria most in-form striker, the bullish center forward in his maiden season in Armenian topflight league has showed lots of prospects which will be beneficial to the Nigeria U-20 squad for the U-20 AFCON.

The young lad has been pivotal for Noah FC in their new found form as he bangs goals week in, week out.

5. Samuel Akere (Botev Plovdiv, Bulgaria)
The former Nigeria Junior International would no doubt be a great addition for the Nigeria U-20 team as they plan for exploits in Egypt next year.

The talented Midfielder has been cynosure of all eyes since arriving at Botev Plovdiv from Vista Gelendzhik.

Super Eagles Defender Bruno Onyemaechi Makes Liga Portugal Team of The Week

Nigeria international Bruno Onyemaechi has been named in the Liga Portugal Team of The Week for match-day 25 following an impressive performance despite his side disappointing home defeat.

Onyemaechi who played from the left back position was the cynosure of all eyes as he was rugged defensively and a menace to the opponent’s backline offensively.

The Super Eagles star was handed a deserving start in the starting XI by Petit and he went ahead to hug headlines following his stellar performance in the game.

Ibrahim Olawoyin Makes Turkish TFF First League Team of The Week

Nigeria international Ibrahim Olawoyin has been named in the TFF First League Team of The Week for match-day 27 following an impressive performance that inspired Çaykur Rizespor Kulübü to a resounding 3-1 home win against Altay Spor Kulübü.

Olawoyin was the major catalyst as the Karadeniz Atmacası claimed a convincing 3-1 win at Yeni Rize Şehir Stadium on Saturday.

Super Eagles camp bubbles with 19 players Following Bruno Onyemaechi’s arrivals

The Nigeria Super Eagle’s camp bubbled and has its numbers of players increase to (19) with the arrival of Boavista Futebol Clube defender, Bruno Onyemaechi as well as other invited foreign pros ahead of the team all important fixture against Guinea-Bissau side.

In a bid to book a place in the AFCON, the Nigeria Super Eagle’s will be engaging in a doubleheader Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Guinea-Bissau later this month

The Super Eagles will play the first leg at the Moshood Abiola Stadium, Abuja on March 24 with the second leg taking place three days later at the 24 de Setembro Nacional Stadium.

In view of the important fixture, Nigeria Super Eagles gaffer, José Peseiro, have listed (24) players to execute the two legged qualifiers series.
