Exclusive: Gernot Rohr sacked as Super Eagles Coach

Gernot Rohr, the Super Eagles Head Coach has been sacked reports owngoalsnigeria.com

It has been reported that the head coach of the Nigeria Super Eagles team Gernot Rohr has been relieved of duty, according to reports, a sponsor associated with the Senior national team has opted in to pay for the termination clause which was added to the contract that Rohr signed with the Super Eagles.

According to OwnGoalNigeria, the NFF has already communicated the decision to Rohr and are currently searching for a replacement for the Rohr.

It is expected that a replacement will be available before the 2022 World Cup playoff.

Nigeria Vs Sao Tome: Super Eagles Predicted XI

Ahead of Sunday’s AFCON Qualifiers fixture against Sao Tome and Principe, Nigerian Journalist, Nwosu CHIGOZIE (Chygoz) lists the likely line-up Jose Peseiro could consider.

As it stands, Jose Peseiro will tackle the fixture with a stars studded team following the availablity of all invited players.

With less than 24 hours to the fixture, Nigerian journalist, Nwosu CHIGOZIE (Chygoz) predicts the likely XI the West Africans could start.

Francis Uzoho (Goalkeeper)

With his return back to the team Francis Uzoho, is expected to be trusted in goal against the Sao Tome and Principe side as he ranks as the team first choice for Coach Jose Peseiro.

Troost Ekong (Centre-back)

Ekong who has been in decent form in his new Greek clubside , is expected to marshal the Super Eagles’ backline ranking as one of the experienced defender in the team.

Jordan Torunarigha (Centre-back)

The KAA Gent defender might be handed a debut for the Nigeria Super Eagles team in his first call-up.

The hard tackling defender might likely be paired alongside Skipper Troost Ekong.

Bruno Onyemaechi (Left-back)

The Boavista man is one of the most consistent Super Eagles players abroad. With Zaidu Sanusi absence, the Portuguese based lad is most likely to be thrown in and preferred ahead of Jamilu Collins.

Frank Onyeka (Central midfield)

Ndidi back to the fold makes him number one candidate in the defensive midfield role as he is expected to start ahead of Frank Onyeka and Raphael Onyedika.

Joe Aribo (Central midfield)

The Southampton man has surely cemented his place in the Super Eagles lineup as he is the most favourite to play in the offensive role.

Moses Simon (Right winger)

The Nantes winger will as usual be deployed to play from the Right wing position as he adds spark and bite to the team frontline.

Samuel Chukwueze (Left Winger)

The AC Milan is the most preferable to play from thee left wing for the team as well trouble the Sao Tome and Principe backline with his bag of tricks.

Victor Osimhen (Centre-forward)

The in-form frontman is likely to spearhead the Super Eagles frontline.

Boniface Victor (Centre-forward)

2023 AFCON Qualifier: All Invited Players Arrives Super Eagles camp

All invited players (22) are now in the Super Eagles camp in Uyo ahead of their 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Sao Tome and Principe.

After early birds of Gifts Orban, Jordan Torunarigha, Boniface Victor,Tyrone Ebuehi, goalkeepers Adeleye Adebayo and Francis Uzoho, Bruno Onyemaechi, other players flew in at the time of this report to bring the total number to (22) with everyone in camp.

The rest of the players who arrived today were received at the airport by members of the Nigeria Football Federation protocol department.

The Super Eagles will hold their first training session this evening at the practice pitch of the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium, Uyo, on Sunday

Nigeria have already qualified for the tournament which will be hosted in Ivory Coast having secured 12 points after five games. However, they could finish second in the group if they fail to beat Sao Tome, and Guinea Bissau defeat Sierra Leone in their final fixture….

Super Eagles head coach Jose Peseiro has called up Bayern 04 Leverkusen Striker, Boniface Victor for his first international assignment as well as KAA Gent striker, Orban Gift for Super Eagles world cup qualifiers fixture against Sao Tome and Principe in Nigeria

Striker Orban, 22, joined Bayern 04 Leverkusen season has been in impressive form for the Belgian champions both domestically and in the UEFA Europa League while Orban has had a brilliant start to the Belgian League season with KAA Gent

Peseiro has also called up many regular faces in the 25-man squad announced today, led by captain Ahmed Musa and including vice-captain William Troost-Ekong, Alex Iwobi, Moses Simon and Samuel Chukwueze.

Leicester City defender Wilfred Ndidi returns with KAA Gent defender Jordan Torunarigha all listed for the first time

Also in the squad are goalkeeper Francis Uzoho, defenders Tyrone Ebuehu, Jamilu Collins and Calvin Bassey, as well as forwards Taiwo Awoniyi and Lookman
.

The friendly will be played at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium on 10th September as all invited players are invited from Sunday evening as the camp opens in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State on 4th September.
