Europa League: Seven Nigeria Stars Into Next Round And Their Clubs



After an interesting group stage in the prestigious UEFA Europa League, teams confirmed their qualification whilst some confirmed their exist from the foremost tourney.

With all their contributions, Nigeria stars held their heads high to help their teams qualify into the round of 16 and here are (5) Nigeria stars who made it to the next round alongside their club sides.

1. Victor Boniface (Bayern Leverkusen, Germany)

Scoring a handful of goals and contributing assists, Boniface and his Bayern Leverkusen side made it through to the next round after coming out first in Group H with 18points.

2. Nathen Tella (Bayern Leverkusen, Germany)

Just like Boniface, Tella remained outstanding for Bayern Leverkusen in the Group stage to help the team come out 1st in Group H.

3. Igoh Ogbu (Slavia Praha, Czech Republic)

With an outstanding contribution, Igoh inspired Slavia Prague into the next round of the Europa League as the Czech side emerged 1st in Group G alongside AS Roma.

4. Muhamed Tijani (Slavia Prague, Czech Republic)

Scoring decisive goals, Tijani played a key role to help Slavia top Group G ahead of Italian giants, AS Roma.

5. Victor Olatunji (Sparta Prague, Czech Republic)

Arguably one of Sparta Prague biggest force upfront, Olatunji played a key role as Sparta Prague advance into the next stage from Group C.

6. Ademola Lookman (Atalanta, Italy)

Lookman was one of the top goal scorers for Atalanta as his goals were necessary to help his side progress into the next round.

7. Victor Boluwatife (Slavia Prague, Czech Republic)

Recording an assist in an all important game for Slavia Prague win, the Nigerian youngster played a vital role to help the Prague based side advancements

Adekunle Shines In Sporting Lagos Dramatic Win



Nigeria Super Eagles defender, Adekunle Adeleke, came through with another top performance in the Nigeria topflight as he Marshaled relegation threatened Sporting Lagos to a win following its dramatic 2-1 win over Defending Champions, Enyimba FC, in one of the Matchday 37 fixture played today.

Unarguably Sporting Lagos trusted defender, Adeleke who joined the Lagos based side at mid season has continually shown off class in back to back games for Sporting.

Sporting Lagos who lost at home on Matchday 36 had their hope of survival on a pendulum as the team needs nothing but a win against Enyimba FC.

After been held at home on Matchday 36, Enyimba marched into Lagos with a date against relegation threatened Sporting Lagos.

Sporting Lagos at kick-off earned a spot kick with just 5mins into the had their chance fluffed but worked out another goal to earn a lead at half time.

On return for the second half, Enyimba FC converted from the spot to return the game to a stalemate.

With few minutes left in the game, Sporting grinded out a deserved goal at the 85mins, a goal enough to separate the two sides at full time.

Ede Oloko Nets Brace Again!



Scoring Sensation, Ede Oloko, continued with his goal festival in the Latvian Virsliga, as he recorded another brace in Jelgava disappointing 4-2 defeat to Grobina in one of the Matchday 18 fixtures played earlier today in the Latvian Virsliga.

One of Nigeria most inform abroad, Oloko in back to back games has continued to show off his worth in the colors of Jelgava as he seven (7) goals under his belt.

Winless in last two games, Grobina ambushed Jelgava hoping to bounce back to winning ways on Matchday 18.

Inconsistent Jelgava side had their hands full on Matchday 18 haven been drawn to trade tackles with Grobina away from home.

First half of the fixture ended on a 1-1 stalemate as Ede Oloko third minute goal was cancelled by Grobina with its 41st minute goal before the half time break.

Resilient Grobina on emergence for the second half out scored its visitors to bring the final scoreline to 4-2 with Jelgava Nigerian import, Ede Oloko, completing a brace for the day.

Sunday Megwo’s Brace Saves Abia Warriros From Relegation



Red-hot Sunday Megwo and Abia Warriros will play in the Nigeria Premier League next season after the gangling talisman recorded a brace in Abia Warriors 2-0 win over Akwa United earlier today.

Abia Warriors are mathematically safe with 51 points from as many matches as all team struggling for survival cannot catch up with them after final day.

It is a remarkable achievement for Abia Warriros, who were at risk of sinking after its goalless draw against Bendel Insurance but got a sign of relief after its 3-1 win over Gombe United in Bauchi on Matchday 36.

They, Abia Warriros, were down in the relegation zone after matchsay 34 but a burst of form by Nigerian forward , Sunny Megwo has now kept them up.

The dreaded striker has constantly help the team win games with goals as his brace today helps relegation threatened Abia Warriors to be relief.

Today, he scored his seventh (7) goal of the season to give his team all maximum points at stake.
