Done Deal: Reading Football Club Lands Nigerian Striker Paul Mukairu On Loan From FC Copenhagen

English League One side, Reading Football Club, have completed the loan transfer of Nigerian striker, Paul Omo Mukairu from Danish league champions, FC Copenhagen.

The Nigerian international, who is yet to feature in seven games this season, is out of contract at Copenhagen in December 2025 and was deemed most reliable for Reading Football Club gaffer,Royals boss Ruben Selles, who is desperate to bolster his side’s attacking options after losing their opening two games in League One this season.

Mukairu failed to start a single game for the Danish side last term, but made 10 appearances from the bench – including two cameos against Man City in the Champions League.

The versatile attacker joined the club in January 2022 but has managed just one assist in 25 appearances so far

Before that, he plied his trade for Turkish side Antalyaspor – where he came through the ranks after leaving Nigeria as a youth.

He racked up 53 games for the Super Lig outfit despite his tender age, managing eight goals and two assists.

Mukairu also went out on loan to Anderlecht for the 2020-21 campaign, notching four goals and four assists in 29 games for the Belgian giants.

Reading have lined him up as their next target as they vie for an immediate return to the Championship.

The Royals have already signed Harlee Dean, Sam Smith, Lewis Wing, Harvey Knibbs, Charlie Savage, David Button, Tyler Bindon and Tivonge Rushesha so far this summer.

They are next in action against Cheltenham on Tuesday (15 August).

NNigerian striker, Olatunji Victor, has added another medal in his cabin as Czech Republic giants, Sparta Prague, emerge win of the 2023/2024 MOL Cup.

It would be the second medal for the Nigeria Super Eagles forward in a week afterwards Sparta Prague emergence champions of the Czech Republic Fortuna Liga 2023/2024 season.

Build up to its finals with Viktoria Plezen, Nigerian forward, Victor Olatunji was pivotal to the team’s winning streak to emerge finalists.

Sparta Prague celebration was short-lived as Viktoria Plezen restored parity at the 87th minute to rise the game tempo.

Heading into final whistle, Sparta Prague, showed off class as the pick their lead with an 90th minute goal, a goal which turned Cup wining goal for Sparta Prague.
