Crowned Football Academy Defeats El-Cadiz FC In Pre-Season Game

EL-CADIZ FC OF EJIGUN suffered a disappointing loss when it locked horns with CROWNED FOOTBALL ACADEMY at Kogi Field in Ejigun, Adodo OTA LGA, Ogun State Saturday, 21st of January, 2022.

Crowned FA fired the first salvo in the 10th minute of action coming from a set piece action with team captain starting the move that led to the opening goal for CROWNED FA.

Chizezi Standwyn Orianwo in an unusual style, rather than hitting the ball direct at the goal post released the ball to Ezekiel Oguntimilehin on the far corner who then returned with a hi-swinger to Chizezi who had made a run into the 18 yard box to provide a headed assist for the first goal scored by Ibrahim Tobi.

Eleven minutes later, Crowned FA doubled the lead coming from a free kick spectacularly converted by Chizezi.

El-cadiz got one back through the boots of Akinsanmi but Crowned FA gave a resolute fight to sustain their two goals gap lead with John Ovat running almost 20 metres to outwit El-cadiz centre back to provide a low square play to assist for Crowned FC’s 3rd goal of the game which was calmly and intelligently converted by team captain, Chizezi who was involved in all three goals and gave a man of the match showing in the evening.

Speaking with Coach Ayodele Akalo regarding the outcome of the match, Coach Ayo said the match provided the team with an opportunity to assess the level at which the players were progressing as well as an opportunity for a number of the players who were on trial to showcase their ability and prove their mettle and he is excited that the team is progressing in the right direction.

In his words, “I am excited about the progress we have recorded with the team. We invited players from different parts of Nigeria as we are still recruiting new entrants into the team and I am excited that the players gave in their best in today’s encounter. We will keep doing our best to keep improving and learning from our flaws. We will be having a very busy season, so it’s important for us to have depth in our squad.”

Both Crowned FA and El cadiz will be participating in this year’s Federation cup. Similarly Crowned FA will participate in the Ikeja State league while El-cadiz FC will participate in the Ogun State league this season.
