Boxing Day Recap: General Performance Of Nigerian Stars

It was another exciting day of Boxing day football across top leagues all over the world as teams strive to clinch laurels in the current domestic season.

In all games played earlier today, Nigerian eligible and Nigerian established stars were on parade for their various clubsides, offering and playing different roles for their various clubs success.

1. Boniface Victor (Royale Union, Belgium)
Impressive Boniface capped his scillinating performance in the fixture with as mind blowing nutmeg and an assist to fire his side to a 3-0 home win.

2. Kelechi Iheanacho (Leicester City, England)
Senior man Kels Who came on as a substitute Alongside his compatriot, Ndidi Wilfred mustered attempts at goal but not enough to avert their defeat against Newcastle.

3. Anthony Nwakeme (Al-Fayha FC, Saudi Arabia)
Anthony banged a goal and assist in one of the games played on Boxing day in the Saudi Arabia topflight league.

4. Odion ighalo (Al-Hilal, Saudi Arabia)
Just like his fellow Compatriot, Odion ighalo recorded a goal on boxing day in his side (2-2) draw

5. Alexander Iwobi (Everton, England)
Iwobi was a masterclass for Everton in their heart wrenching defeat against Wolves.

6. Paul Onuachu (Genk, Belgium)
The Nigerian international fired blank in his side slim defeat against, Leuven.

7. Ndidi Wilfred (Leicester City, England)
The Super Eagles midfielder who came on as a substitute brought in the needed vigor in the middle of the park for Leicester City, in their defeat in the hands of Newcastle United.

8 Arokodare Tolu (Amiens, France)
Arokodare was on parade but fired blank in his side (1-1) stalemate.

9. Chuba Akpom (Middlesbrough, England)
Super Eagles eligible striker grabbed his first career hat-trick against Wigan.

10. Josh Maja (Bordeaux, France)
High flying Josh Maja fired blank in his side slim loss away from home.

Super Eagles Defender Bruno Onyemaechi Makes Liga Portugal Team of The Week

Nigeria international Bruno Onyemaechi has been named in the Liga Portugal Team of The Week for match-day 25 following an impressive performance despite his side disappointing home defeat.

Onyemaechi who played from the left back position was the cynosure of all eyes as he was rugged defensively and a menace to the opponent’s backline offensively.

The Super Eagles star was handed a deserving start in the starting XI by Petit and he went ahead to hug headlines following his stellar performance in the game.

The 23-year-old utility player played out all 90mins in the keenly contested fixture as he recorded a decent number of completed passes and recovery defensively.

Ibrahim Olawoyin Makes Turkish TFF First League Team of The Week

Nigeria international Ibrahim Olawoyin has been named in the TFF First League Team of The Week for match-day 27 following an impressive performance that inspired Çaykur Rizespor Kulübü to a resounding 3-1 home win against Altay Spor Kulübü.

Olawoyin was the major catalyst as the Karadeniz Atmacası claimed a convincing 3-1 win at Yeni Rize Şehir Stadium on Saturday.

The In-Form Nigerian was handed a deserving start in the starting XI by Bülent Korkmaz and he went ahead to hug headlines following his stellar performance in the game.

Will be recalled this would be the second consecutive listing of the Nigerian winger in the best performers list.

Super Eagles camp bubbles with 19 players Following Bruno Onyemaechi’s arrivals

The Nigeria Super Eagle’s camp bubbled and has its numbers of players increase to (19) with the arrival of Boavista Futebol Clube defender, Bruno Onyemaechi as well as other invited foreign pros ahead of the team all important fixture against Guinea-Bissau side.

In a bid to book a place in the AFCON, the Nigeria Super Eagle’s will be engaging in a doubleheader Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Guinea-Bissau later this month

The Super Eagles will play the first leg at the Moshood Abiola Stadium, Abuja on March 24 with the second leg taking place three days later at the 24 de Setembro Nacional Stadium.

In view of the important fixture, Nigeria Super Eagles gaffer, José Peseiro, have listed (24) players to execute the two legged qualifiers series.
