Boniface Victor: Nigeria Super Eagles Forward Nominated Again For Bundesliga Player Of The Month Award

Sensational Nigerian forward, Boniface Victor, has been listed for Bundesliga player of the month of September award alongside other top stars following his performance and contribution to the Bayern 04 Leverkusen team.

The Nigerian star is listed for thee prestigious award alongside, Serhou Guirassy, Alejandro Grimaldo, Chris Führich and Bayern Munich duo of Harry Kane and Leroy Sané.

The Player of the Month award was created by the DFL Deutsche Fußball Liga in 2018/19, in cooperation with the Bundesliga’s official licensing partner, EA Sports.

The award is decided through a two-stage selection process that considers both the players’ individual performance data and a vote by fans and experts.

The September award is based on performances from Matchdays 3 to 6 of the season.

Bayer Leverkusen are another side to have started the season like wildfire – with 16 points and 20 goals after six matchdays of a Bundesliga season both representing new club records. Victor Boniface has played a big part in the super start with four goals and one assist in September – with only Guirassy and Harry Kane scoring more over the past month.


Boniface started every Bundesliga match Leverkusen played in September. He hit the most shots on goal in the league by some distance (25) and had comfortably the highest xGoals score (5.0). Only his shooting efficiency (-1.0) denied him more strikes. The Nigerian is bidding to become Player of the Month for the second consecutive month and also scooped the Rookie of the Month award for August.

Nigeria Super Falcons defender , Glory Ogbonna, will continue her professional career with the Turkish side, Beşiktaş Women’s Football

Nigeria international Ogbonna Glory has signed a contract extension that will keep her at Beşiktaş Women’s Football for another one year 2024/2025 season.

On 3 February 2023, she was transferred to Beşiktaş JKand currently plays for Beşiktaş JK.

Glory is a versatile player. Although her main position is a left-back player, but she can also play as a right-back, a left-centre back, a right-centre back and a defensive midfielder. Glory can use both feet successfully.

There, she has been a key figure in the stars studded Beşiktaş Women’s Football side helping them stay afloat in the Turkish Women Super League with a good run of form.

Ambrose Peter Pens Emotional Message To Újpest Ahead Aberdeen Move

Nigerian forward, Peter Ambrose, has penned an emotional farewell message to Hungarian Football Club, Újpest Football Club, fans following his move to the Scottish Premier League with top giants, Aberdeen Football Club.

“I want to thank Újpest Football Club my teammates, the coaches and most especially the fans for making this year a happy and a memorable one for me, you will always have a room in my heart “ emotional Ambrose concluded.

Ambrose made his professional debut for Turkish side Balikesirspor in January 2022 and featured a further 11 times in his maiden season before a move to Ujpset that summer.

He was the Hungarian club’s top scorer last season with 10 goals in 27 starts and, according to Aberdeen, attracted interest from “several UK clubs” before opting for the Dons.

Done Deal: Getafe Unveils Nigerian Midfielder Uche Chrisantus

LaLiga club Getafe have announced the signing of Nigerian midfielder Uche Chrisantus.

According to Nigeria journalist, Nwosu ‘Chygoz’ Chigozie,

reports that Chrisantus joined Getafe from Spanish second tier club, AD Ceuta.

The 21-year-old penned a four-year contract with the Azulones.

“Getafe CF and AD Ceuta FC have reached an agreement for the transfer of Chrisantus Uche. The 21-year-old Nigerian footballer has signed with the club until June 30, 2028 and will spend the next four seasons in the blue and white jersey,” the club announced on their official website.

He will join Getafe’s first team for preseason training, where he will compete for a spot in the squad.

Ikechukwu Uche and Oghenekaro Etebo are the two other Nigerians, who have played for Getafe in the past.
